This workshop is an introduction to utilizing beautiful, complex joinery in furniture making. The instructor, Taeho Kwon has always attempts to use complex joinery within his own furniture projects. This gorgeous bedside lamp frame was designed with that in mind and has over 25 parts with over 50 complex joints. There is also another 1,100 Kumiko insert parts. Students shouldn’t let these numbers intimidate them because all the parts will be milled and cut to size by the instructor so the class can focus on the joinery.

Not only will this class be super fun but it will teach students how to make contour shapes, create compound angles, and make numerous complex joinery, all with two power tools; the table saw and a router. The Bedside Lamp class is packed full of expert tips and information. A short lecture will be given on how to make joinery last to 1,000 years.
