Class Description:
Join us at the Austin School of Furniture for our monthly carving club. This is a free meetup appropriate for all skill levels, wether you have never dabbled in carving or have an avid practice. Come hang out and carve something, chat with peers, and try something new. We’ll have spoon blanks from kiln dried lumber available. While we will not be using the machine room, if you would like to make your own design one of our instructors can cut it out for you. If you have your own tools please bring them. The school has a very limited supply of carving tools, and if you do not have your own be prepared to wait and share with your neighbors. We have some carving kits available for purchase in the school’s retail store. Feel free to bring some of your own projects for show and tell if you’d like. Please rsvp buy registering so we have an idea of who will be attending.
The ASF carving clubs meets on the second Sunday’s of the month from 4:00pm-6:00pm, guest instructor classes permitting.
While this is a free meetup, and you can come and go as you please, please arrive by 4:15 for a quick safety talk.
What to bring:
- Any carving tools you have at home
- Water and snack if desired
- Please wear closed toed shoes
