Class Description:
Crafting any type of furniture can be difficult and intimidating but how do you even get started when the piece of furniture is curved or bent? This weekend class will introduce students to curved and bent elements in furniture through a fun and simple end table project.

Topics and skills covered will include:
- Why bend wood?
- Should I used hardwood or plywood?
- Working with veneer
- One and two part molds
- Cutting curved parts
- Using Jigs
- Gluing curved parts
Schedule:
- Saturday and Sunday – 9am to 5pm
- 1 hour for Lunch
What to Bring:
- Required
- Safety glasses
- Hearing protection
- Dust mask (N95 or higher) or respirator
- Combination square or engineering square (4”, 6”, or 12”)
- Sketchbook / notebook
- Pencils, eraser, sharpie
- 6”or 12” metal ruler
- Tape measure
- Card scraper / Stewmac scraper
- Optional (If you don’t bring your own you will have to share the school’s limited quantity)
- Bench chisels (¼” – 1”)
- Spokeshave with convex sole
- Marking gauge / marking knife
- Digital calipers
- Block plane
- Low angle jack plane / bench plane
- Handsaw (Japanese or western)
- Sliding bevel gauge / digital angle gauge
