Class Description:
This skills-based class is focused all on making and fitting drawers. Creating a drawer for your furniture and getting it to fit and function properly can be intimidating and difficult. Instructor Philip Morley will walk students through an easy and repeatable technique to build a drawers and properly fit them to their corresponding drawer boxes. If you are wanting to incorporate wooden drawers into your furniture projects then this is a great weekend class to take.
Topics and skills covered will include:
- Designing drawers and drawer boxes
- Milling and cutting material
- Hybrid dovetails on the table saw
- Drawer fitting
- Waxing drawers
What you’ll need:
Required
- Tape
- 6” ruler
- Combo square
- Pencil
- PPE
- Dovetail saw
- 4# smoothing plane
- Mallet or deadblow
- Marking knife
- Recommend – Olfa 30°
Optional (If you don’t bring your own you will have to share the school’s limited quantity)
- Coping saw
- Chisel – 3/8”
