Class Description:
Marquetry is a style of decorative woodworking that involves creating images or scenes by inlaying small pieces of variously colored wood or other materials into furniture or other woodworking components. In this class, students will learn the basics of marquetry and its history. Students will create their own a decorative marquetry panel with wood veneer that can be used for various applications such as a box lid, tray, a small cabinet door, tabletop or even a wall decoration.
This marquetry class requires some specialty tools. You can purchase a set of these online or you may borrow them from the school. You will also need to bring your own design. See student examples HERE. Materials and material cost is included and will be ready and waiting for each student. Students will walk away with their very own decorative panel.
