- Shaping the block
- Tuning the plane
- Hand plane technique
What you’ll need:
The below tools are recommended for this class and beyond. If you do not have these, do not worry. You may borrow them from the Austin School of Furniture tool library.
- 55mm Japanese Hand Plane (Provided to you as part of this course)
- Sharp paring chisel between 1/2″ to 1″
- Narrow chisel 1/8″ (optional)
- Small hammer for adjusting plane
- Sharpening stones (optional)
- PPE
- Water and snacks
