Class Description:
Lumber core or stave core is a great technique to create flat and stable panels that can be used as doors or other furniture parts. This skills class will teach student the fundamentals of this style of furniture construction so students can walk away and apply the knowledge they have learned to their own projects with confidence.
Topics and skills covered will include:
- Tool and shop safety
- Lumber core panel and door design
- Lumber core
What you’ll need:
Required
- Tape
- 6” ruler
- Combo square
- Pencil
- PPE
Optional (If you don’t bring your own you will have to share the school’s limited quantity)
- #4 smoothing plane
- Low angle block plane
- Card scraper
- Card scraper burnisher
