The 2019 Texas Woodworking Festival
We are really excited to be putting on the Texas Woodworking Festival this April and wanted to let you know all about it. Grab yourself a ticket at TexasWoodworkingFestival.com.
You could say that this is the 2nd annual or the inaugural Texas Woodworking Festival. In April of 2018 the Woodworking Social Club, a local woodworking Meetup group that we run, put on an event called The Woodworkers’ of Austin Spring Social. This event had a goal of showcasing the Austin woodworking community so that everyone knew about the plethora of woodworking resources that are available in the area. We were surprised and extremely happy about the overwhelming support and turnout of local woodworkers. As well, we realized that the name was a bit confusing but that this event had the potential to be much bigger and better.
Soon after, we spoke with the 2018 participants of The Woodworker’s of Austin Spring Social participants to get feedback about the event and discuss future events. After rebranding to the Texas Woodworking Festival, we started reaching out to furniture makers, tool manufacturers, sawmills, content creators both on the local and national level. Once again, we were amazed by the excitement for an event like this. We set dates, pulled permits, found food trucks and the Texas Woodworking Festival 2019 was on!
This year we expect the event to be lots of fun. It will be a great opportunity to meet fellow woodworkers, pick up some great deals on tools and enjoy a cold beer. With the purchase of a ticket, you’ll get full access to the Texas Woodworking Festival. TWF will include a beer garden with craft beer from Skull Mechanix Brewery, live podcast recording and broadcasting by the Modern Woodworkers Association Podcast, t-shirt screen printing, demonstrations, and of course woodworking wares for sale. We have an ever growing list of exhibitors and vendors but you can see who all is signed up to attend currently with the list below or head over to the TWF website HERE.
We hope that you’ll attend the event and maybe tell a friend. Thanks so much and we will see you there!
