I found ASF via Instagram in early 2019. I took an introductory class in Marquetry followed by a Hand Plane class and I was hooked. I continued classes through the Fundamentals and Furniture 1 courses as well. The instructors were engaging and really interested in our learning experience. The teachers I’ve met are industry recognized, accomplished professionals. Seeing their level of work and how it is applied in the classroom is inspiring. They were each assisted with talented woodworkers from ASF who really contribute to the classroom experience. I’ve made several friends that tracked through the same classes with me and we still follow each other on social media (students, assistants and instructors).

ASF is a great place to start your woodworking hobby or upskill your current techniques. I've taken a few courses and would recommend them all. Fundamentals of Woodworking w/ Mark Love - Mark made this class accessible for all of the folks in the room who had no woodworking experience, but he also gave people with more experience room to run. This is a GREAT place to start for someone who has little to no exp or is just interested in picking up a new hobby.

This is a wonderful opportunity for woodworkers to improve their skills and knowledge base. I have been very impressed by the talent and diversity of the instructors that are teaching at the school. Ten years ago you had to travel to the east coast to find this level of professional instruction. Kudos to the staff of ASF for creating this opportunity for woodworkers.
