Class Description:
In this one day class, we’ll learn some methods and processes for making your own kitchen utensils. Not only are these small projects a great way to use up scrap wood, but they are beautiful handmade objects that can make every day life a little more special. We will learn how to safely and effectively use the bandsaw to remove material, and learn different methods for shaping including tabletop and bench sanders, as well as more traditional carving techniques. We have plenty of options to choose from, and everyone will be able to make several of their favorite kitchen tools.
What to bring:
- A desire to learn some new skills in a fun, safe and supportive environment.
- A positive attitude to share in a community of craftsmanship.
- KN95 mask, this will be a very dusty class
- Hearing and dust protection
- Closed toed shoes
- If you have other woodworking tools that you feel would be beneficial, please feel free to bring these as well
