Class Description:
Learn the craft of creating an elegant wooden spoon. This course is approachable for both beginner and intermediate level students. It will cover how to select wood, design, and use a combination of hand & power tools for carving an heirloom quality kitchen spoon that you will cherish for years to come.
What you’ll need:
- Hook Knife
- Straight Knife
- Bent Gouges (7L/20 and/or 8L/20)
Places to get Spoon Carving Tools:
Students may also find the following optional tools useful:
- Spokeshaves (You may borrow one of ours)
- Power carver (Dremel, Mastercarver, Marathon, Foredom)
Austin School of Furniture has the right to cancel this class at anytime if the minimum amount of students is not reached.
